Author Bio: Michael Murphy received his Certificate in Feature Film Writing from UCLA's Extension program in 2009. "The Writ Writer" is his second screenplay, and was adapted as a radio drama and broadcast by public radio station KCBX during the 2010 San Luis Obispo Film Festival. It was also a finalist at the Peachtree International Film Festival in Atlanta.

His first screenplay, "The Knuckleballer," most recently won the Best Screenplay award at the 2009 California Independent and 2009 All Sports Los Angeles film festivals.
