Good luck!

Thanks, Chris!

You know, with all the storm clouds surrounding this contest, there may well be a silver lining (pun intended). I bet Julie's going to work extra hard to promote her winners this year and make sure good things happen for them. Right, Julie? ;-)

Best of luck to you, Stephen, and to anyone else on this board who's still in the running!

Author: Stephen Hoover Posted: 07/10/10 01:15 PM

Thanks, Karen. Glad to still have a shot. Tough competition getting through any contest.

Author: James Schannep Posted: 07/12/10 11:58 AM

Umm...really? What about people who didn't submit, can they read this post?

I'm all about the free exchange of opinions, and I was on board with your standpoint, Stephen, until I read this. This is just childish.

I wish all of those that advanced the best of luck in this, and any endeavor.

Author: James Schannep Posted: 07/12/10 12:21 PM

Okay, I just read the other thread (that presumably prompted this) so I see where you're coming from...but still.

This whole thing has gotten out of hand on all levels. I, like many others I'm sure, am ready to move on.

Seen any good movies lately?

Author: Stephen Hoover Posted: 07/12/10 01:16 PM

James,

Thanks for stopping by my post -- though you aren't a participant in the contest and really not part of this.

This thread is for people who have advanced in the contest to share information and updates.

Thanks for stopping by and for NOT posting on my thread in the future.

Childish? Perhaps. But this thread is for "Winners Only."

Good luck next year in your contest endeavors.

Author: Karen Barnett Posted: 07/12/10 02:51 PM

Well, excuuuuse me! I didn't advance in this contest so guess I didn't have the "right" to post here either.

I'm not sure Frederick wants people to be excluded from contributing to threads based on how well they do in contests. It is, after all, his message board.

Do you have a policy on this, Frederick?

I don't actually have anything to say, I just reject the idea of a private thread on a public board. Who's to keep us pesky posters out?

If you want to pat each other on the back without having to field the snide comments of the disenfranchised, you can form a private Yahoo or Gmail group.

Author: Stephen Hoover Posted: 07/12/10 03:46 PM

Disenfranchised? LOL!

Okay, that's my laugh for today. Sure show up and have a party here.

That really is a classic.

My point was there's a CONTEST taking place. What's the topic of this website? Contests. Right? MovieBytes = contests.

But you guys are cracking me up. Keep it up.

Author: Marjory Kaptanoglu Posted: 07/12/10 04:32 PM

Yay, I made someone laugh today!

Now back to work and see if I can do that with my screenplay (although it's a dark thriller).

Kudos to all of us!

Author: Stephen Hoover Posted: 07/12/10 05:28 PM

Marjorie,

A writer friend that avoids the boards because of flame wars told me she pretends whatever person is annoying her in life the most is the next victim in her thrillers. So there ya go!

Feeling a bit like the "leave Britney alone" YouTube guy. Hope we move on to the next topic of controversy soon.

Author: Dana Garrity Posted: 07/12/10 07:34 PM

Now, Stephen. Congratulations, but this seems like a bit of a self-serving promotion.

Do you really need a thread to update each other about this contest? Seems a bit shady. I'm familiar with a lot of names on this board and only recognized two from this board on the results. I'm sure you realized the same, considering you are much more active then me on the boards. I did not enter, so this isn't about me.

You need not pat yourself so much upon the shoulders. You have a lot of people who respect you here and do that already.

Good luck to you, but settle down :)
