Hey, just saw that Mike Donald took 2nd place in this. Congratulations, Mike. You must have won enough with that one to produce it yourself.
Congrats, Mike, and thank you for the Moviebytes articles. Really enjoy your sense of humor (which everyone needs to survive this business). Looking forward to the next one.
Fantastic news! Congrats Mike.
And I see Mike also made the semifinals in Great American Screenplay Competition with a different script. Way to go, Mike.
Thanks for your support all you guys and gals...next ep of Limey in LA LA LAND is about to go out. I was going to post about WRITE MOVIES, but as you have started this thread :) I'm getting ready to give them a kick, as it's been about a month or so, and all they've managed to do is move the dinner back a month!
As it's not really that easy to pop over to LA for me it would be great if they could set an actual date...and send the prizes, and let the contestants know who's turning up at the dinner :) Am I asking too much..I think not...1000 entrants at 30 or 40$ IS $40,000...SURELY ENOUGH TO HIRE AN INTERN TO DO A BIT OF PAPERWORK?
Wheras the Jessica Bendinger comp I won have sent Final Draft, given me a skype conference with CAA and a top producer, and I still have a consult to come and my prizes arrived a few days ago...and that's her first comp!
So, my word to the various organisers is to get your act together...because blogging can sink a competition...and also what about the EXPOSURAMA Billboard...anybody in Hollywood seen that...should have my name on it!!! Been about 8 months for them to get sorted/or not.
I think it's time we weeded out the people who can spend six months jerking us around before they announce the winners...but then can't even get their act together for the winners...does this seem harsh...again I think not!
I haven't posted much as I've been writing a musical to be shot in Chile, and I had to write the lyrics for about 16 songs, a little bit of a tretch for me, and they wanted it in a month!
So if contest organisers can't do a few hours work over 6 months in preperation for awards to a few humble writers...what's their excuse!
It's time for the worm to turn...hope I don't get hit with a spade!
The Limey.
Finally got a reply...8th of OCT IS THE DINNER! I shouldn't have to stalk to get info should I?
More news to come,
Mike
Great news. Hey - that's not you sitting in the car across the street from my house, is it?
Yes..damn this ebay satnav!
Final Draft are no longer sponsoring Write Movies.
