Topic: Who's a ProSeries Alumnus?

Author: Ron Brassfield Posted: 07/27/10 10:35 PM

I took part in Sunday's free conference call from Hal Croasmun. I was wondering who in Moviebytes is a ProSeries Alumnus, and what do you think about the whole course and what have you experienced, being an alumnus? Thanks.

I am. Haven't been to active on the alum board though.

It's the best on-line class for screenwriting. Best screenwriting class anywhere for that matter. Mine last over 8 months. You have to write everyday to do the assignments. Most assignments are due in 24 hours. So you MUST be committed to doing the work or you will get zip out of it. If you do the work, it will make you a better writer. Plus, ther are other classes that are offered that are excellent as well. Highly recommended. There are many grads who are working in Hollywood.

Great post, Greg. Absolutely spot on.

I was a classmate of Greg's as well in PS 14, and back him on everything he says above -- especially that part about putting the work in, or you'll get zip out of it.

It's a major commitment, in terms of dollars and time and patience. Make the commitment, and you'll get your value back in spades.

So, two thumbs way up from PS 14.

George, please forgive all the Greg references...PLEASE! I was just over on the DD board, reading up on Greg Beal's latest, classy posts about the Nicholl, and channeled him into the "Add New Message" screen here, in responding to your post.

Lo siento!

Sincerely,

Jack...or Jim...or Joseph...or whoever the hell I am.

Jim, I mean John, That's okay. It's good to hear from you. Glad you share the same feelings about the ProSeries.

From Greg, I mean George.

Couldn't agree more with John, George and Stephen. Hal's pro series, master series and sequel series made me the writer I am today. Each series averaged about seven months.

Can't imagine two years of film school being more productive. It's also a great way to develop relationships with other promising talent. Definitely challenging but well worth the effort.
