Objective:

To foster the art of screenwriting as an integral part of the film festival. Since we also have a themed element to the festival, we pair it with the same theme for a portion of the screenplay contest.

Eligibility:

Open to anyone

Entry Fee:

Features: $26 (by April 1, 2010); $31 (by July 1, 2010); $35 (by August 1, 2010) Shorts: $16 (by April 1, 2010); $21 (by July 1, 2010); $26 (by August 1, 2010) wsPro $5 Discount

Rules:

Features 80 to 130 pages; Shorts 10 to 45 pages. Scripts must be submitted via hardcopy on white paper in standard industry format bound with at least two brads. Screenplays must be unproduced. Entrants must fill out entry form. Other rules on the website.

Awards:

Winners will receive $250, $150 and $100 plus software will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for features and $125, $75 and $50 plus software will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for shorts. Various prizes for each category are dispensed only if deemed worthy by judges.
